Twitter has declared that verified accounts of government officials or their representatives and those running for public office with more than 100,000 followers will have notices hiding tweets that violate its community guidelines – for the people

They also announced that tweets that reflect direct threats of violence or looks to commit violence toward others will be deemed “not in the public interest” and blocked. Twitter’s largest challenge is going to be balancing free expression, cultivating accountability, and reducing the potential harm that these tweets can cause.

Facebook’s temper tantrum on Wednesday did a lot more than not load your photos in a timely manner but also revealed what information they gather from your images

You might have noticed that text tags appeared where images should have on Wednesday saying things like “Image may contain: smiling people, people dancing wedding and indoor”. These are all generated from Facebook’s machine-learning system and may be an indicator to how much personal information is actually accumulated by Artificial Intelligence. Yes, this is used for those with visual impairments but is this information being used to target ads and gather data. Probably not a good look for Zuckerberg.

Google Ads API is being reverted back to beta status after complaints on overall status after being released in March

Ads API¹ was created to replace AdWords AP I by allowing users to operate on a larger scale but these issues could reflect on campaign performances and reports². Understandably, Google is asking users to continue or start using the predecessor AdWords API while they try to fix all the issues. For your future-self’s sake, go back to Adwords API for the moment.

In less than two months, Google’s Display & Video 360 users will notice a new and improved environment

Starting August 26, you can start utilizing the updated environment targeting and the new position targeting setting that allows you the opportunity to utilize audience targeting, video targeting, and audio targeting. But that’s not all you get! You also receive new reporting dimensions and the opportunity to restructure your Structured Data Files! And you better get capable with SDF v5 or it will not be a pretty transition.

You should start noticing that you aren’t being bombarded [read: scammed] for the miracle bullets of weight loss, new hair growth, or other life altering issues as much. Question is… will this mean they are blocking posts from your old high school pals or just the sponsored ads?
