Google My Business allows restaurant listings to opt-out of online ordering links.
Google My Business is allowing restaurant listings to remove online ordering links. Businesses have to fill out a form which can be found here. Restaurants don’t even have to provide a reason for opt-ing out. Although that raises the question, why would a restaurant listing want to remove an online ordering link? Restaurants may want to remove that option if they offer online ordering on their own site. Many third-party ordering systems such as Postmates, DoorDash, and others charge fees to restaurants for utilizing their service.
Google Ads changes the design of call-only ads.
Google is rolling out a new look for call-only ads with the goal of driving higher quality leads. This updated layout for call-only ads will display the business’s phone number at the top, with the business headline and name now placed below the phone number in smaller text. In addition to this change, the phone icon will be more prominent so that there is no mistaking that these ads are call-only ads. According to Google,“On average, advertisers with the new call-only ads design have seen a 14% increase in phone calls, a 16% increase in call conversions and better cost efficiencies with an 8% decrease in overall paid clicks. The new look helps call-only ads stand out from other text ads, reducing accidental clicks from users who didn’t intend to make a call.”

He claims it’s not just a platform to connect with friends and family, but more of a place to watch and engage with content.
